Early life
Born in Houston, Texas, in 1981, she performed in local talent shows and church choirs as a child and joined the group that would become Destiny's Child in the 1990s.
Career journey
Destiny's Child released a run of successful albums before Beyoncé's solo debut, Dangerously in Love, in 2003. Later albums including Beyoncé, Lemonade, Renaissance and Cowboy Carter were noted for their visual and conceptual ambition, and her live shows and stadium tours have been widely documented.
